23 Sept. 93 UK: BITUMEN BOILER CONTROLS HEAT

WJ HORROD.

23 September, 1993

A thermostatically controlled bitumen boiler, which helps contractors meet current health and safety regulations at roof level, is now available from W J Horrod. The British-made boiler is available in 114 and 227 litre sizes. It is mounted on rubber-tyred wheels for ease of movement, and features an immersed non-clogging tap, a pilot protected flame failure valve, a thermostatically controlled bar burner and tubular lifting handles for pan removal. The company says that conventional type boilers can overheat bitumen to a point where it loses its effectiveness as a waterproof coating and flashing becomes a hazard. The Horrod boiler is claimed to heat the material to the precise laying temperature. W J Horrod Tel: 081 539 8746. CONSTRUCTION NEWS
